Gus Nixon, (Joseph Augustine Nixon) aged 97 years from Barnoldswick passed away peacefully at Cravenside Home for the Elderly on Monday 19th January 2026.

A Requiem Mass and funeral service will take place on Thursday 29th January 2026 at 11 am in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church Barnoldswick prior to a burial at Ghyll Cemetery.

Gus was the loving husband to the late Jenny Nixon, treasured Dad to Michael (Nicky) and the late Janet Nixon. A beloved father in law to Judith, a devoted Granddad, Great Grandad and Great Great Grandad.

Donations in lieu of flowers are being accepted for Cravenside Home for the Elderly as they looked after Gus and his family with such care and compassion in Gus’s final days.
